Measured Building Survey and 3D Revit As-Built Model for a Private House in Clapham,London
BES completed a high-detail measured building survey and 3D RevitAs-built model for a private residential property located in Clapham, South London. The project was commissioned to support a planning permission application and guide the redesign of the internal spaces.
The survey scope included the entire property—both internal and external—with a focus on capturing and modelling complex architectural details. The final Revit model was developed to LOD 350, providing a highly accurate representation of the building’s existing condition. In parallel, we also produced a full 2Dsurvey pack including plans, elevations, and sections in both DWG and PDF formats.
One of the core challenges was the intricate geometry present in the building’s façadesand internal finishes. The architectural complexity required a precise and methodical approach to ensure that all relevant features were captured correctly and translated into both 2D and 3D formats.
Our surveyors began with a full measured building survey, using high-resolution terrestrial laser scanners to create a dense and accurate pointcloud. This was then used as the foundation for producing the Revit As-built model, which included all key structural and design elements down to fine detailing.
Our modelling team worked carefully to interpret and represent every visible feature, ensuring that both the model and the 2D drawing set could serve as a trustworthy foundation for the next design stage. With both survey accuracy and model fidelity prioritised, the final deliverables enabled the client’s architectural team to move forward confidently with their design and planning application.
