Measured Building Survey and 3D Revit As-Built Model for a Private House in Northwood Hill, London
BES was appointed to carry out a complete measured building survey and deliver a 3D Revit As-built model for a private residential property located in Northwood Hill, London. The aim of the project was to create are liable digital base to support a new planning application for the property.
The scope of work included both internal and external laser scanning, followed by the development of a Revit model at LOD 300. In addition to the model, we produced a full 2D survey package with plans, elevations, and sections delivered in both DWG and PDF formats.
One of the key challenges on this project was a tight turnaround time. The client had clear expectations regarding delivery deadlines and required that the on-site survey be conducted at a specific time to align with the wider planning schedule.
The BES team coordinated closely with the homeowner to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. We conducted the measured building survey using high-accuracy laser scanning equipment and produced a dense point cloud that formed the foundation for the model. Thanks to our streamlined approach and in-house modelling expertise, we were able to meet the agreed timeline without compromising on quality.
The final 3DRevit As-built model, developed to LOD 300, included all essential architectural elements and structural features. The accompanying 2D drawings provided clear, accurate documentation of the property’s current condition—ready for planning submission and design development.
