Measured Building Survey and 3D Revit As-Built Model for Commercial Property in Lee-on-the-Solent
BES completed a fast-turnaround project on a commercial property located in Lee-on-the-Solent, where the goal was to support the client’s retrofit planning process through a detailed measured building survey and an accurate 3D Revit As-built model.
The scope involved scanning both internal and external areas of the premises and delivering a complete Revit model at LOD 300. With a tight deadline inplace, the priority was speed without compromising on accuracy—ensuring the client could move ahead with design and coordination right on schedule.
Tight turnaround requirements can add pressure to any BIM or survey workflow, particularly when a comprehensive capture of both internal and external environments is required. For this project, the BES team coordinated closely with the client to streamline every step of the process—from on-site data capture to model delivery.
Using high-resolution terrestrial scanning equipment, we conducted a full measured building survey in record time. The resulting point cloud formed the basis for the Revit model, developed efficiently and in line with the required specifications and deadlines.
The final deliverable included a complete 3D Revit As-built model at LOD 300,covering the structure’s internal layout and external façades. Though no 2D drawings were requested in this case, the model was built with sufficient detail to support both clash detection and layout planning for the client’s upcoming retrofit works.
By meeting the tight timeline without compromising quality, we enabled the design team to proceed with confidence—armed with precise digital information that supports effective, risk-reducing decisions in the early stages of planning.
Whether under pressure or not, delivering dependable, detailed models based on accurate measured building surveys is what we do best.
